Chants
Chanting of Patanjali's invocation is a way to connect us with the ancient roots of yoga and the teachings that have been passed down through generations.
When we start a yoga class with chanting, we mark a shift from our daily lives to a more focused, inward state. The sound and vibrations from the chanting help us to center ourselves and bring the mind to rest.
Patanjali, whom we honor in the invocation, is known for having systematized the teachings of yoga. Chanting is a way to honor both these traditions and our own practice.
